Cristian Bermudez

Cristian Bermudez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Cristian started their career in 2008 as a PC and Networking Technician and later worked as a Web Designer. In 2011, they joined K2Business as a Member of Technical Staff, where they primarily focused on server management and deployment. Cristian worked with clients such as Banco Central del Uruguay and Poder Judicial.

In 2016, Cristian moved to NetLabs, where they gained experience as a Junior SysAdmin, Advanced SysAdmin, and later as a DevOps Engineer/Senior SysAdmin. Cristian worked on various tasks such as managing mail servers, network troubleshooting, and maintaining backup servers. At NetLabs, they worked with an Uruguayan ISP as a client.

In 2019, Cristian joined The Appraisal Lane as a DevOps Engineer. Cristian worked with cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, including ECS and EKS. Their responsibilities included continuous improvement, maintenance of internal tools, and supporting multiple teams in deploying and improving services.

In 2020, Cristian joined BacklotCars as a DevOps Engineer. Cristian focused on implementing Kubernetes and working with a cloud-native infrastructure on Digital Ocean. Cristian also worked using an Agile methodology and remote work.

In 2021, Cristian joined Trafilea as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Cristian worked on building a new cloud stack for the company's new services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Terraspace. Cristian also created Serverless solutions using AWS Lambda Functions.

Currently, Cristian is working at Marco as an SRE/DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Cristian is responsible for establishing the company's cloud infrastructure, developing an application pipeline, and creating tools and integrations. The systems are containerized and hosted on Amazon ECS, with plans for migration to Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Cristian has also integrated GitLab services to enhance development processes.

Cristian Bermudez completed their Bachillerato opción Ingeniería at Divina Pastora from 2004 to 2009. Cristian later pursued their higher education at Universidad de la República, where they obtained a degree as a Tecnólogo en Informática from 2015 to 2018.
