Edson MacHado

Edson Machado is an experienced geologist with a comprehensive background in mining and exploration, currently serving as Chief Mine Geologist at Marcobre since May 2018, where responsibilities include managing the Geology department at the Mina Justa copper mine. Prior to this role, Edson held positions as Principal Consultant at EBM Consultoria and Geology & Geotechnical Engineering Manager at Marcobre, contributing to mineral resources estimation and geological project management. Edson's extensive experience also includes leading exploration operations for BHP Billiton in Peru and Zambia, managing diamond exploration at Escom Group in Angola, and serving as Exploration Manager for a joint venture involving BHP Billiton and Petra Diamonds. Edson's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Geology from USP, a Master's in Engineering with a focus on Mineral Resources Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool.
