Gary Yaquinto has a solid work history with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Gary began their career in 1984 as the Director of the Utilities Division at the Arizona Corporation Commission, where they oversaw the regulation of public utilities. In 1997, they moved on to become the Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs at GST Telecom, where they represented the company's interests in regulatory and legislative proceedings. In 2003, they joined the Office of the Arizona Attorney General as the Chief Economist, providing analysis and advice on civil cases involving potential violations of antitrust laws. In 2005, they became the Director of the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning & Budgeting, where they managed a team of economists and budget analysts in the preparation of the state budget. In 2006, they assumed the role of President & CEO at the Arizona Investment Council, advocating for investor interests and directing research in support of investment in utility company infrastructure. Most recently, in 2018, they became the Chief Financial Officer at Maricopa Community Colleges.
Gary Yaquinto received a B.S. and M.S. in Economics from Arizona State University from 1972 to 1974. Gary later obtained an MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix from 2003 to 2005.
