Gianna Avellis is a highly experienced leader in the fields of ICT, e-learning, and mobile learning, currently serving as a Leader Researcher at InnovaPuglia SpA and holding various positions in esteemed associations such as the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche and the Marie Curie Alumni Association. As a founder and chair of the GEMS Working Group on Gender Equality, Gianna has actively promoted female leadership in science through workshops and publications. With a rich background as a European project manager and evaluator, Gianna has contributed to numerous research initiatives and European projects, particularly in mobile learning and software engineering. Educated in Computer Science at the University of Bari and with a Marie Curie Fellowship from Imperial College London, Gianna Avellis has established a significant presence in advocating for gender equity and contributing to scientific advancements within the European research community.

Marie Curie Alumni Association
The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) is an association of researchers who have benefitted or are benefiting from a Marie Curie Action (recently renamed “Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions” under the “Excellent Science” pillar of EU’s Horizon 2020 Programme for Research). Researchers on the verge of working on a Marie Curie project are also eligible to join. The main objective of the association is to provide its members with a space where they can share experiences and interests. Membership of the MCAA is open to past and current beneficiaries of the European Commission’s successive Marie Curie Actions (and earlier programmes) encouraging international mobility for researchers at: https://www.mariecuriealumni.eu/user/register
