Lily Liu Liqing

Lily Liu Liqing is the founding Country Director of Marie Stopes China. She established the programme in 2001 with a particular focus on providing sexual and reproductive health education and services (including HIV/AIDS prevention) to unmarried young people, migrant populations and those living with HIV and AIDS.

Lily led the development and launch of the You&Me brand, an innovative approach for the Marie Stopes China programme, which focuses in reaching young people. Since 2004, Lily has been providing technical assistance to government agencies that run family planning services, which are adopting client-centred, high-quality service approaches.

She has played a catalytic role in ensuring that more Chinese women of reproductive age receive dignified and high-quality family planning services. Currently Lily is working with Fudan University to implement a Maternal, Child and Newborn Health project in Myanmar and Ethiopia.
