Matt Stott is an experienced law enforcement professional with over two decades of service at the Marin County Sheriff's Office, currently holding the position of Sergeant. Stott has held various roles including Custody Sergeant, Court Security Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant, alongside collateral assignments such as SRT Team Leader and Sheriff’s Honor Guard Team Leader. Prior experience includes serving as a Violent Crimes Detective and a Property Crimes Detective, where investigations covered cases from homicide to fraud. Stott's law enforcement career began with an academic distinction as the top graduate in the Police Academy. Before joining the Sheriff's Office, Stott served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class, completing active duty and reserve service with qualifications in various maritime operations.
