Roger G. Fielding

Roger G. Fielding has over 20 years of work experience in public safety and emergency response. Roger G. began their career in 1989 as a Paramedic and Field Supervisor at American Medical Response/MedTrans of West Michigan in San Mateo County. From 1992 to 1996, they worked as a Police Officer for the City of Hudsonville. In 2000, they joined the County of San Mateo as a 911 Public Safety Communications Dispatcher and worked in that role until 2016. In 2006, they became a Deputy at the County of San Mateo Office of the Coroner. In 2015, they started working at Training For Safety, Incorporated as a Public Safety Instructor in training until 2019. Currently, they serve as the Chief Deputy Coroner at the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Roger G. Fielding has a diverse education history, primarily focused on forensic investigations and emergency medical technology. In 1985, they obtained a diploma from Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ, where they pursued a general studies curriculum. From 1987 to 1989, Fielding attended Davenport University, earning an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic).

Continuing their education in the field of forensics and death investigation, Fielding participated in various certificate programs. In 2010, they completed the Basic Death Investigation Academy at the California Coroner Training Center, Orange County CA Sheriff-Coroner's Office. Later that year, they also obtained a course certificate in the Medicolegal Death Investigation Training Program from the National Forensic Science Training Program in Largo, Florida.

Fielding further enhanced their expertise in death investigation through several training programs offered by the Forensic Science Training Program at the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. In 2012, they acquired a course certificate in the Medicolegal Death Investigation Training Program, followed by a Course Certificate in Forensic Specialties in Death Investigation in 2014. Additionally, in 2013, they completed the Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Investigation Training Program.

In 2013 and 2015, Fielding expanded their knowledge by receiving course certificates in Forensic Fire Death Investigation from the San Luis Obispo Fire Investigation Strike Team and Instructor Development Workshop from the San Mateo County Law Enforcement Training Managers Association, respectively. Roger G. also obtained certificates in Coroner Death Investigation-Forensic Photography from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and Aquatic Death and Homicidal Drowning Death Investigation from the California Coroner Training Center at Orange County Sheriff-Coroner's Department in 2015.

Overall, Fielding has developed a significant expertise in forensic investigations, with a specific focus on death investigation, medicolegal death investigation, bloodstain pattern analysis, and forensic fire death investigation.
