Michael Huang has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Michael began their career at Trilogy Software as a Technical Lead from July 1997 to December 2001. Michael then worked at MetLife Investments as a Project Lead from July 2002 to November 2003. Afterwards, they worked as a Consultant for Self, where they bootstrapped a mobile application outsourcing project and built a delivery team for HP 3000 migration. Michael also provided consulting services for Nokia from March 2004 to March 2007. Michael then joined Morgan Stanley as an Associate (IT) from June 2007 to April 2009, where they implemented China Anti-Money Laundry capabilities and built a Shanghai team for real-time market data delivery.
In 2009, Michael founded and served as the Head of Shanghai Engineering at their own company. Michael held this role until August 2012. Following that, they worked as Sr. Technical Lead & Engineering Manager at an undisclosed company from August 2012 to January 2015. From January 2015 to August 2018, Michael worked as the Director of Engineering at Marin Software.
In August 2018, they were promoted to the position of Senior Director Of Engineering at Marin Software, where they successfully delivered major Search features and played a key role in bringing in incremental revenue. Most recently, in April 2021, Michael took on the role of Product Manager at Marin Software, where they reduced time spent on inquiries and enabled accurate reporting of intraday conversion metrics. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong leadership skills, directly managing and mentoring teams of developers.
Michael Huang holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics, which they obtained from the University of California, Berkeley in the years 1992 to 1996. Michael also completed a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering at Cornell University from 1996 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications, including "Building Resilience" and "Gretchen Rubin on Creating Great Workplace Habits" from LinkedIn in October 2016. Michael also achieved certifications in "Exploratory Data Analysis," "Getting and Cleaning Data," and "R Programming" from Coursera Verified Certificates in February 2015 and December 2014 respectively.
