Marine Biological Laboratory
David Sherwood has been an influential figure at Duke University since 2005, currently serving as Associate Chair of Biology, Director of the Development and Stem Cell Biology Program, and Co-director of the Regeneration Next Initiative. In addition to directing Graduate Studies for the program, David leads a research lab focused on morphogenetic mechanisms in development and teaches courses in Cell Biology and Developmental Genetics. David also contributes to the Marine Biological Laboratory as Co-director of the Embryology Course and has a rich background in developmental biology research, having completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology and graduate studies at Duke University. David holds a B.A. in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University, augmented by education at the University of Durham in England.
