Jose Torres

Jose Torres has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information technology. Jose currently serves as the Chief Information Officer for Marine Corps Community Services, where they have broad responsibilities supporting various operations globally. Prior to this role, Jose worked with multiple companies as an IT strategic consultant and project manager, collaborating with different teams on IT controls and various initiatives.

Before that, Jose held leadership positions at General Cable, where they served as the Vice President of Information Technology for the Latin America and Rest of the World business units. Jose was responsible for developing IT strategies, implementing technology innovation, and overseeing operations.

Additionally, Jose worked as the Director of Information Technology for General Cable and Phelps Dodge Corporation, where they successfully led various IT programs and projects, driving business growth and cost savings through technology deployment.

Jose Torres has a diverse education history. Jose obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Information Systems Management from Universidad de Puerto Rico in 1986. Jose later pursued a Master's degree in Project Management and Software Engineering from DePaul University from 1992 to 1994. In 2002, they earned the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from Information System Audit & Control Association, specializing in Audit and Risk Management. Jose also received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Universidad de Puerto Rico in 1985. Additionally, they have acquired several professional certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute, focusing on PMO, Portfolio, and Project Management in 2016. In 2019, they obtained the SCRUM Foundational Certification in Scrum and Agile Project Management from SCRUMStudy. Finally, Jose completed the Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification in Executive Management from Information Systems Audit & Controls Association between 2016 and 2021.
