T. Thore Ipsen has a diverse work experience in the fields of augmented reality (AR), animation, and storytelling. In 2012, they worked as a Director and Writer at Eyecandyfilm and also served as a Story World Writer for a TV-series concept at SVT. T. Thore then worked as a Writer and Animation Director at Ghost VFX in 2014. Ipsen went on to work as a Story World Writer at Warner Bros International Television Production from 2014 to 2015 and as a Story World Consultant at Investigate North from 2015 to 2016. In 2019, they joined Nørlum as an AR Director, Screen Writer, and Motion Capture Consultant, where they wrote screenplays, developed story-worlds for AR animation IP, and led the setup of a full-body motion capture and Virtual studio. Ipsen also co-founded World For Story in 2019, focusing on creating and sharpening augmented reality concepts, and participated in the Sony Startup Acceleration Program Europe. Currently, in 2020, they serve as the CEO of Marionette XR and, as of 2021, as the CEO @ Marionette at Techstars Montréal AI Accelerator. Throughout their career, Ipsen has consistently demonstrated a passion for pushing the boundaries of AR storytelling and bringing immersive experiences to life.
T. Thore Ipsen's education history begins in 1999 with full-time acting classes by Henrik Paludan. From 2000 to 2001, Ipsen attended The European Folk High School of Theater, focusing on acting and directing. In 2001 to 2002, Ipsen enrolled at the Film and Drama Folk High School, specializing in film directing. Ipsen then pursued a director trainee program at Sonne Film Post from 2003 to 2004. In 2004 to 2005, Ipsen completed an internship at The Danish Video Workshop. From 2005 to 2010, Ipsen obtained a Master's degree in Conceptual Film practice from Funen Art Academy. Ipsen's most recent educational experience was in 2015 at The National Film School of Denmark, where they pursued a degree in story design.
