Manager Regulatory Reform Projects at Maritime New Zealand

Jacqui Yeates is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in regulatory reform and policy design. Currently serving as the Manager of Regulatory Reform Projects at Maritime New Zealand since October 2020, Jacqui is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of significant regulatory initiatives. Prior roles include Manager of Regulatory Policy Design at the Ministry for Primary Industries from January 2017 to September 2020, and Manager of Policy and Performance, Cost Recovery at the Ministry for the Environment from January 2008 to January 2017, where responsibilities included strategic and regulatory policy development and coaching. Jacqui's earlier experience includes roles as Deputy Science Team Leader at the UK Climate Impacts Programme and as a Research Assistant at the International Global Change Institute. Educational qualifications comprise a Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis from Victoria University of Wellington and two Master's Degrees in Geological and Earth Sciences from The University of Waikato, along with a Bachelor's Degree in the same field.
