Gillian (Gigi) M.

Gillian (Gigi) M. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Gillian (Gigi) started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at UCSC Strome Lab, where they conducted research on germline gene expression in C. elegans strains and contributed to a cancer research project. Gillian (Gigi) then worked as a Research and Development Chemist at Neutraderm, where they resolved errors in product documentation, collaborated on the formulation of skincare products, and improved laboratory efficiency.

Following that, Gillian worked as the Owner of GiggleGills, an Etsy jewelry store, where they oversaw all aspects of the business, including production, organization, marketing, and customer experience. Gillian (Gigi) then joined Huntington Learning Center as a STEM Tutor, where they utilized adaptive lesson planning, effective communication, and scientific expertise to improve student satisfaction and increase the center's STEM student population.

Gillian's next role was as a Project Manager at Eurofins, where they managed client relationships, ensured data accuracy of project deliverables, and minimized report errors. Gillian (Gigi) then transitioned to a Software Engineer position at Lightyear Health, where they improved the database and designed and executed a fully scalable templated email notification project.

Currently, Gillian is employed as a Software Engineer at Marker Learning, where they collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable software solutions and designs robust and scalable software systems using industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Gillian (Gigi) M. started their education at Valencia High School, where they attended from 2010 to 2014. Gillian (Gigi) then went on to the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology with Honors from 2014 to 2017. In 2021, they attended The Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy to gain knowledge in Computer Software Engineering. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained a Full-stack Web Development Coursework Certificate of Completion from The Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy and a Graph Developer - Associate certification from Apollo GraphQL.
