Kara Garner Pass has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Currently, they are a Member at Chief, a private network dedicated to empowering women executives and promoting their advancement in positions of power. Prior to this, Kara served as the President & CEO of Market Street Trust Company. Kara Garner also worked at Tompkins Financial Advisors as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director, overseeing the Central New York team and ensuring exceptional client experiences. Before that, Kara held positions at M&T Bank, where they were a Vice President and Business Banking Team Leader, Vice President and Business Banking Relationship Manager, and Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager. Earlier in their career, they had roles at Cornell University - Cornell Institute for Public Affairs as a Production Assistant and at Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a Senior Marketing Coordinator. Kara brings a diverse range of skills and expertise in leadership, business development, and client management to their work.
Kara Garner Pass obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in International Business/Trade/Commerce from Cornell University, which they pursued from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature/Letters at Roanoke College between 1993 and 1997. In addition to their academic degrees, Kara Garner Pass also obtained a certification called the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) Certification Program from Wharton Executive Education in November 2021.
