Sungwon Son

Sungwon Son has a strong background in software engineering and development. They started their career at Dreams for Schools in 2019 as an AppJam+ Mentor, where they collaborated with other mentors to create a mobile application development program for middle school students. They guided the students in developing their own mobile applications with block-based coding and programming fundamentals.

In 2020, Sungwon Son moved to EduQuality as a Back End Developer. In this role, they created an educational program to help students utilize their skills in technology and entrepreneurship to produce a portfolio-ready project. They also worked with fellow engineers to create software documentation and design.

In 2021, Sungwon Son joined Walmart Global Tech as a Software Engineer. Here, they designed and created APIs, built libraries, and focused on incorporating Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) strategies. They also led efforts to commercialize the store fulfillment platform into a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) with multi-tenancy support. Additionally, they developed key APIs that combined sequential APIs, reducing response times by up to 40% through optimized database queries and avoiding proxy layers with external vendors.
