Melody McDowell

Melody McDowell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Public Relations, Writing, Special Events, and Marketing, having founded MELODY'service in 1981, where Melody serves as President and Chief Visionary. Additionally, Melody McDowell has contributed to the Markham Public Library as a member of the Board of Trustees since July 2015, following her appointment by Mayor David Webb, Jr. Her previous leadership role as Chief Information Officer for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority from July 2006 to June 2014 included responsibilities as the Chief Public Relations officer and the inaugural International Chairman of the Communications Committee. Melody McDowell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Spelman College and an MS in Library Science from Chicago State University.
