Dr. Caroline Geenen became the Chief of Staff at Oak Valley Health's Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) in March 2018.
Dr. Geenen has practiced at MSH since 1996, and became the Chief of Medicine in 2010. She is also chair of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee and physician lead for clinical utilization and patient flow. She has participated in numerous quality improvement projects at the hospital and is a strong patient advocate.
Dr. Geenen trained in medicine at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1989, and then completed her FRCPC in neurology at University of Toronto in 1995. She completed the Advanced Health Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management in 2017, the Quality Improvement for Chairs and Chiefs Program at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and the Physician Leadership Program, Health Policy, Management & Evaluation at University of Toronto.
