Clarence (Guy) O. Peterson IV, CPA, is a Partner in the Professional Standards Group at Marks Paneth LLP, which is responsible for monitoring quality control in the firm as mandated by professional standards. Mr. Peterson has over 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing. His expertise includes Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, internal controls over financial reporting (SOX), US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Mr. Peterson has performed engagement quality control reviews (EQCRs) and managed internal inspections, both domestically and globally. He has also helped to drive high-quality audits for external clients and coached engagement teams internally.
Prior to joining Marks Paneth, Mr. Peterson was a Managing Director at a Big Four accounting firm. He is based in Marks Paneth’s Purchase, NY office.
