Vice President R&d And Engineering EMEA at Marmon Foodservice Technologies

Thomas Völker has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Thomas currently holds the position of Vice President R&D and Engineering EMEA at Marmon Foodservice Technologies, beginning in March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Director R&D Midea Europe at Midea Group from January 2018 to February 2022.

From January 2016 to December 2017, Thomas served as the Head of Development Ventilation Modules at BSH Home Appliances Group. In this role, they led and managed two module teams of 8 development engineers, focusing on air flow and air purifying. Thomas also developed and grew the team leaders and their teams, built skillsets, established career paths, and recruited new talents. Thomas built strong relationships with key stakeholders within pre development, product development, laboratory, production, and marketing.

Prior to their time at BSH, Thomas worked at Whirlpool Corporation - EMEA Region as an Acoustics Laboratory Supervisor and Lead Engineer Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) from January 2012 to September 2015. From June 2007 to December 2011, they served as a Materials Technology Expert for the company. Before that, they worked at Electrolux as the Competence Area Lead Beverages, Water and Ice from November 2005 to April 2007.

Thomas Völker began their career at the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM), University of Bremen in May 1998. Thomas held the position of Assistant Head of Group and was involved in various projects and studies in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and industry. Their work included the study of thermal transport phenomena in magnetic colloids under reduced gravity conditions and the analysis of the use of nano-technology in space technology and systems. Thomas also handled various tasks on behalf of the industry, including material characterization and the development of metallic particles for applications.

Thomas Völker holds a PhD in Fluid Dynamics and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bremen, which they obtained between 1998 and 2002. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the Technical University of Munich between 1992 and 1998, earning a degree in Brewing and Beverage Technology. Thomas also possesses a certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt, although the details of this certification have not been provided.
