Darren Logan

Darren Logan is currently serving as VP Research at the Mars Advanced Research Institute & Global Food Safety Center since September 2023. Previously, Darren held various roles at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute, starting as Senior Research Manager where oversight of a research team focused on sensory mechanisms and feeding performance in pets was key. As Head Of Research, leadership encompassed the development of research programs aimed at improving pet health and wellbeing. An established career includes positions as a Young Investigator at the European Molecular Biology Organization, Postdoctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute, Investigator at the MRC Centre for Obesity and Related Metabolic Diseases, and Assistant Member at the Monell Chemical Senses Center, where research centered on the genetics of smell. Additionally, as Group Leader at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Darren's lab utilized advanced genetic techniques to explore the olfactory system and its implications for various human disorders.
