Marie Viljoen is an accomplished editorial contributor and author with extensive experience in foraging, horticulture, and culinary arts. Currently serving as an Editorial Contributor for Remodelista since January 2016, Viljoen also authors the cookbook "Forage, Harvest, Feast - A Wild-Inspired Cuisine" for Chelsea Green Publishing, showcasing 510 original recipes using 36 edible plants. As an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden, seasonal classes focus on edible plants, conservation, and sustainable practices. Additional roles include contributing writer for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Edible Manhattan, botanical walks and classes leader, and a well-regarded blogger at 66 Square Feet. Viljoen has a background in garden consulting and was an instructor at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, holding degrees from the University of Cape Town and the South African College of Music.
