Dean Barr

Dean Barr is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data science, investment management, and alternative data applications. Currently serving as the Applied AI Lead and Data Scientist at The Carlyle Group since November 2020, Dean specializes in generative AI and investment decision modeling. Prior roles include Senior Data Scientist at Nimble Gravity and Chief Data Scientist at Pharmapacks, along with significant senior leadership positions such as Managing Partner at Foundation Capital Partners and CEO of Citi Alternative Investments. With a foundation in artificial intelligence from founding Advanced Investment Technology Partners, Dean's career has spanned influential roles at Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. An advisory board member at Martian, Dean holds a Bachelor's degree in history and computer science from Cornell University and an MBA in finance from New York University.
