Dr. Hamid Nourmand is the medical director of the Anesthesiology Department at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital where he oversees the hospital’s staff of board-certified anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists.
Dr. Nourmand is also the current chief of the UCLA-MLKCH Anesthesiology Program. He was instrumental in the design and implementation of clinical protocols for Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital and its perioperative services. Dr. Nourmand’s involvement in the MLKCH project started in April 2014, when he became a member of the Medical Advisory Committee, and once the hospital was licensed in April 2015, Dr. Nourmand was elected Secretary/Treasurer for the hospital’s medical staff.
A member of the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Nourmand is an attending anesthesiologist, with privileges at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He is also clinical professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Nourmand received his Doctorate in Medicine from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. With more than 20 years’ experience in anesthesiology, Dr. Nourmand is a board-certified anesthesiologist licensed to practice medicine in California.
He is a published author who has written about the subject of liver transplantation anesthesia, which is his field of interest.
Dr. Nourmand received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Florida International University. He also speaks multiple languages, including Farsi.
