Gonzalo Jiménez Illana

Gonzalo Jiménez Illana currently serves as a partner specializing in sports law at Martínez-Echevarría Abogados since September 2023. Gonzalo has extensive academic involvement as the Director of the Master in International Sports Law LLM and a professor at Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea, teaching various courses including Compliance in Sports, eSports, and Sports Marketing. Gonzalo holds professorships at LaLiga Business School and ISDE Law & Business School, and co-directs the Executive Program in Sports Compliance at the Sports Law Institute. Additionally, Gonzalo holds several leadership positions including President of the Discipline Commission at the Federación Española de Pelota and President of the Appeals Committee of the Federación Española de Fútbol Americano. With a robust educational background including multiple law and business degrees, Gonzalo has also worked as Legal Counsel for the Federación Panameña de Fútbol and was a Partner at Above Sport until September 2023.
