Vice President Revenue Cycle & Ambulatory Operations at Mary Rutan Hospital

David Kelly, MHSA, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. David most recently served as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle & Ambulatory Operations at Mary Rutan Health starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Piedmont as the Interim Executive Director and later as the Director of Operational Effectiveness from November 2022 to April 2023. From August 2020 to February 2022, David held the position of System Director - Revenue Performance & Revenue Financial Reporting at Bon Secours Mercy Health. David also worked as the Director of Revenue Cycle at Premier Health Partners from September 2019 to July 2020.

Before that, David Kelly held various roles at Mary Rutan Hospital. David was the Director of Revenue Cycle and Managed Care from May 2018 to September 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Revenue Cycle, overseeing the front and back-end hospital revenue cycle processes, including registration, financial counseling, billing, and A/R management. David also had the responsibility of managing revenue cycle functions for Mary Rutan's provider-based clinics. David joined Mary Rutan Hospital in October 2013.

David Kelly's work experience also includes a role as a Health Care Management Consultant at Deloitte from July 2012 to October 2013, where they provided expertise to hospitals and health systems to improve their revenue cycle practices. Additionally, they worked at Miami Valley Hospital as the ETC Patient Access Supervisor from November 2010 to July 2012, overseeing the front-end revenue cycle functions of the Shaw Emergency and Trauma Center.

Earlier in their career, David Kelly served as an Account Representative at Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services from June 2008 to November 2010, where they led outreach and community relations efforts. David also worked as an Account Executive/Patient Service Coordinator at Legacy Medical Equipment from February 2006 to February 2008, leading marketing efforts and coordinating patient service staff. Prior to that, they were a Sales Representative at OneCall Now, LLC from October 2005 to February 2006, where they designed and implemented a new marketing tactic for the sports market.

David Kelly, MHSA, obtained a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Xavier University, graduating in 2010. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Telecommunications from Ball State University in 2004 and an AA in Liberal Arts from Edison Community College in 2002.

In terms of additional certifications, David obtained the HFMA's Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification in February 2022. David also completed several online courses and training programs, including "How to Be an Effective Remote Manager," "Project Management Starts with Laying Good Ground Rules," "Leading Virtually: Vulnerability and Presence when Working from Home," "Developing Executive Presence," "Excel: Advanced Formatting Techniques (Office 365/Excel 2019)," "Smartsheet Essential Training," "Gary Hamel on Busting Bureaucracy," "Operational Excellence Foundations," "Coaching Employees through Difficult Situations," and "Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP)" from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). These certifications and courses were obtained between 2016 and 2022.
