Paul Deter has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. Paul started their career at Westchester Specialty Group (ACE) as a Financial Reporting Manager, where they were responsible for financial reporting and operations. Paul also played a key role in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as cash management. Paul then moved on to Knox Holdings, Inc, where they served as the Chief Financial and Operating Officer. At Symons International Group, they took on the role of Controller, overseeing operations and leading a successful conversion of business/management systems. Paul later became the Chief Financial Officer at Sun States Insurance Group and AEGIS Insurance Services, where they also held the position of Chief Audit Executive and Vice President. At Montreat Consulting, Paul worked as a Senior Partner, focusing on business development and client management. Currently, they serve as the Chief Financial Officer at Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund. Overall, Paul has demonstrated expertise in finance, leadership, and strategic planning throughout their career.

Paul Deter obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Accounting from Georgia State University, where they studied from 1981 to 1985. Later, they pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business from the same university, from 1997 to 1998.
