Timothy Barr

Managing Director, Water & Wastewater at Maryland Environmental Service

Timothy Barr, P.E., is a licensed Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of engineering, construction, water, and wastewater experience in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Barr has extensive experience designing and constructing water and wastewater systems including water and wastewater treatment plants; water collection systems; and water distribution systems. Prior to joining MES, Mr. Barr worked for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission as the Chief Information Officer and Facilities Construction Division Manager; the City of Columbus, Ohio, as the Public Utilities Director of Engineering; and for several engineering consulting firms. Throughout his impressive career, Mr. Barr has been at the forefront of professional development for program management, construction management, design-build, geographic information systems, and asset management services.

In his role as Managing Director, Mr. Barr is responsible for the group’s water and wastewater operations and maintenance including treatment, distribution, and collection. In addition, he is responsible for water and wastewater engineering services provided by the group.

Mr. Barr has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, and Louisiana.
