Brian B. Alula

Brian B. Alula is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various governmental organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Information Technology at the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange since December 2022, Brian previously held positions such as Deputy CIO/IT Director at the MDOT - Motor Vehicle Administration from January 2021 to April 2023 and Director of Enterprise Software Services at the Maryland Department of Transportation HQ from August 2017 to January 2021. Brian's career also includes significant roles at the MDOT State Highway Administration and the State of Washington's Department of Licensing, culminating in a position as CIO for the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife. Brian's educational background includes studies at the University of Southern California and Nova Southeastern University.
