Marilyn Sklar, MA, serves as the Internal Communications Specialist for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, focusing on internal communications within the Office of the Chief Information Officer since February 2023. Previously, Marilyn held leadership roles in social media and communications at Montgomery Parks from May 2016 to February 2023, overseeing multiple social media platforms and developing strategies for various initiatives. Marilyn's extensive experience includes coordinating arts programming at the City of Takoma Park, serving as Curator of Education at the DAR Museum, and directing education and communications at the Rosson House Museum. Additionally, Marilyn contributed to the NMC Horizon Report 2015 Museum Edition in a volunteer capacity and has a comprehensive educational background with degrees from The Johns Hopkins University, the University of Florida, and Eastern New Mexico University.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is a bi-county agency empowered by the State of Maryland in 1927 to acquire, develop, maintain and administer a regional system of parks within Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, and to provide land use planning for the physical development of these counties. The agency gained responsibility for public recreation program in Prince George's County in 1970.
