Carl Smith has over 40 years of experience in security, starting with their role as a Detective in the Sexual Child Abuse Unit at the Baltimore Police Department from 1973 to 1991. Carl then worked as the Director of Security and Evening Manager at the Baltimore Marriott Hunt Valley from 1997 to 2002, and subsequently held the same roles at the Sheraton Columbia Hotel from 2002 to 2007. From 2006 to 2008, they served as the Evening Manager and Assistant Director of Security at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore. Carl then worked as the Director of Security and Assistant General Manager at the Baltimore International College/The Mount Vernon Hotel from 2008 to 2010. Most recently, they have been serving as the Chief of Security at Maryland Public Television since 2010.
Carl Smith attended Morgan State University, where they studied Biology Pre Med. The exact dates of their enrollment are not specified. After their time at the university, they went on to attend Forest Park SHS from 1970 to 1973, where they obtained a Diploma in Biology.
