Maryland Symphony Orchestra
Alec Hiller is an accomplished bassist with extensive experience in orchestral performance and education. Currently serving as a bassist for the Richmond Symphony and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra since 2017, Alec Hiller also holds the position of substitute bass for The National Symphony Orchestra and has been a section bassist with The Maryland Symphony Orchestra since 2016. Previous engagements include substitute roles with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performance, Alec Hiller contributes to the education of aspiring musicians as adjunct faculty at Morgan State University and The Bryn Mawr School, with prior experience at Peabody Preparatory. Alec Hiller holds a Master of Music in Double Bass from McGill University and a Bachelor of Music in Double Bass from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.
