Cynthia L. Chavez, MBA, CPA, has an extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Cynthia L. began their career as a Bank Teller at Ranchers Bank from October 2000 to May 2002. Cynthia L. then worked as an Accounting Assistant at the University of New Mexico from May 2002 to June 2003. From June 2003 to August 2004, they served as a Graduate Business Intern - Procured Services Contract Representative at Sandia National Laboratories, where they administered contracts totaling $50 million.

Cynthia's experience in the public sector includes working as an Accountant at the City of Corvallis from October 2007 to January 2010. Cynthia L. provided technical expertise to train a finance team on accounting standards, prepared financial reports, and participated in external audits. Cynthia L. also worked as an Accountant II at Oregon State University from September 2004 to October 2007, managing funds and ensuring compliance with various funding sources.

In the non-profit sector, Cynthia held various roles at Northwest Harvest. Cynthia L. served as the Controller from June 2018 to January 2019, overseeing the finance team and implementing a new accounting system. Prior to that, they were the Accounting Manager from February 2014 to May 2018, responsible for accurate financial transactions and payroll operations. From March 2010 to January 2014, they were a Senior Accountant, handling payroll accounting, budget preparation, and month-end/year-end closes.

Cynthia's most recent position was at the Schultz Family Foundation, where they served as a Finance and Operations Manager from January 2019 to April 2021. Cynthia L. directed and managed finance activities, including budget preparation and reporting. Cynthia L. also led annual audits and tax filings.

Currently, Cynthia L. Chavez is the Chief Financial Officer at Northwest Harvest, a position they have held since April 2021. Cynthia L. will soon be transitioning to the role of Chief Financial Officer at Mary's Place in December 2023.

Cynthia L. Chavez holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University, obtained between 2005 and 2007. Cynthia L. also has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance and Accounting from UNM Anderson School of Management, earned between 2000 and 2003. Additionally, they are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certified by the Washington State Board of Accountancy in 2013.
