Matt Carkeek has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Matt started their career in 2001 as an Operations Supervisor for TIBBETT & BRITTEN GROUP PLC, overseeing warehouse operations in a logistics company. Matt then worked at Inland Revenue NZ as a Workflow Coordinator from 2004 to 2005. In 2006, they joined IRD as a Forecast and Planning professional. Matt had a short stint as a Workflow Coordinator at Thomson Reuters in 2008. Matt joined ANZ in 2011, where they initially served as a Forecast Analyst and later as a Change and Engagement Manager. Matt transitioned to MAS in 2014, starting as a General Insurance Underwriter and eventually taking on roles such as General Insurance Underwriting Manager, Underwriting and Business Facilitation Manager, and currently as the Head of Underwriting and Business Facilitation (GI)- MAS. Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated a strong focus on risk management, compliance, and driving change initiatives.
From 2007 to 2010, Matt Carkeek attended Victoria University of Wellington, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology.
