At GrafTech International, Carlos held the position of IT Security and Access Manager, where they were responsible for user access provisioning and termination, compliance objectives, and IT security initiatives. Carlos also served as the Service Desk Manager, where they established an in-house service desk, designed processes and procedures, selected and trained staff, and implemented an ITSM tool.
At Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., Carlos served as the Technical Service Desk Senior Manager, overseeing service desk operations for multiple Fortune 500 customers. Carlos successfully coordinated activities between multiple teams and international sites, ensuring adherence to best practices and SLA compliance. Additionally, they served as the ISO20000 Incident Management Site Process Representative/Internal Assessor, continuously improving incident management operations and training their team to become internal assessors. Carlos also served as the Technical Service Desk Manager, starting service desk operations at a new location and achieving metrics that exceeded the previous sites.
At Marcatel International, Carlos worked as a Project Manager, participating in IT infrastructure projects and pushing for IT security standardization under the ISO27001 standard.
At Dinformatica 21, S.A. de C.V., Carlos served as a Senior Consultant, productizing the company's service offerings, leading projects for various customers, and performing system and network administration duties.
At Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum, Carlos was the Editorial Secretary for Ecclesia, managing operations for an academic publication and developing an administrative database and website.
Lastly, at Oak International (Oaklawn Academy), Carlos worked as an Administrator, overseeing day-to-day operations at a boarding school and collaborating with academic staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
Carlos Sotelo's education history begins in 1992 when they attended the Universitá Pontificia Regina Apostolorum. Carlos pursued a degree in Philosophy and earned a Baccalaureatum Philosophiae as well as a Licentia Philosophiae, completing their studies in 2000.
In 2001, Carlos began focusing on Information Technology. Carlos enrolled in multiple certification programs during this time period. From 2001 to 2005, they attended the HP Certified Professional, Peoplesoft University, and Sun Educational Services. At each institution, they completed certifications in Information Technology.
Additionally, in October 2012, Carlos obtained the ITIL Foundation Examination certification from Loyalist Certification Services (APMG).
