Bassam Moussa

Bassam Moussa is a legal professional with extensive experience in banking and finance law, currently serving as Group General Counsel at Mashreq since August 2023. Prior to this role, Bassam held the position of Chief Legal Officer and Board Secretary at Emirates Development Bank from June 2022 to August 2023, and served as SVP- Group Head of Legal for Corporate and Investment Banking at Emirates NBD from July 2017 to June 2022, where Bassam also acted as General Counsel for Egypt. Earlier experience includes leading the banking and finance practice at Al Tamimi & Company and being a Senior Associate at Shalakany Law Firm, focusing on corporate transactions and project finance. Bassam's educational background includes a Master's Degree in International and Comparative Law from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and various postgraduate qualifications in International Finance Law and Construction Law.
