Javaris Powell

Javaris Powell is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Assistant Principal at Mason City Schools since January 2019, with prior roles as Principal and Assistant Principal. Javaris held the position of Education Partnerships Manager at Discovery Communications from July 2016 to January 2019 and was an Assistant Principal with the District of Columbia Public Schools from July 2014 to June 2016, overseeing a middle school community of 50 educators and focusing on instructional improvement. Previous experience includes serving as Director of STEM Programs and Principal at Saturday School at Friendship Public Charter School, as well as roles as an Adjunct Instructor and Speech/Debate Coach at Howard University.
