Dr. Amber Carlson, DSW, LICSW has a diverse range of work experience in various roles within the healthcare and social work industry. Dr. Amber started their career as a Medical Billing Specialist and Ophthalmic Assistant at Retina Center of Hawaii from 2003 to 2007. During this time, they handled medical billing tasks and also assisted the ophthalmologist in preparing patients for their visits.

From 2007 to 2009, Dr. Carlson worked as a Case Manager in the Caregiver Respite Program at Child and Family Services. In this role, they helped clients hire independent contractors for respite care and conducted intake assessments, created care plans, and managed the discharge process.

Dr. Amber Carlson, DSW, LICSW has an extensive education history in the field of social work. Dr. Amber completed their Doctorate degree in Social Work at the University of Southern California from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a Healthcare Concentration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they studied from 2008 to 2009. Dr. Amber also holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Hawaii Pacific University, which they earned from 2006 to 2008.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Carlson has obtained several certifications. Most recently, they completed the Public NatCon Adult Instructor Training Remote CST course offered by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in August 2022.
