Robert Toone has a strong work history in the video game industry. robert started their career as a Games Designer at Gremlin Graphics in 1984. After that, they worked as a lead programmer at Core Design from 1988 to 1994, where they had the opportunity to design and write their own games. robert then moved on to Malibu Interactive as a Lead Programmer from 1993 to 1995, where they mainly coded other people's designs. In 1994, they joined Mass Media Inc as a Lead Programmer and stayed there until 2006. During their time at Mass Media, they also worked with THQ. From 2007 to 2018, they returned to Mass Media Games as a Senior Software Engineer and later as a Lead Engineer. In 2018, they joined Visual Concepts as a Lead Tools Engineer and worked there until 2022. Currently, they are a Senior Manager of Engineering at Mass Media Games since 2021. Through their various roles, Robert Toone has gained extensive experience and expertise in software engineering, game design, and project management.

Mass Media Games is currently comprised of a group of extremely talented, dedicated and experienced individuals who have been in the entertainment software design and development industry since the beginning. We have done every type of game, from arcade to FPS, mini-games to space operas, and mysteries to sports and designed more than 200 mini-games for the Muppets, Shrek, SpongeBob, Pac-Man, Do Unto Others!, Midway 1-3 and the HotZone. We have worked on titles for every major game console since Nintendo SNES, in addition to Commodore 64 and Apple II. Most recent titles include: XCOM 2, Mafia 3, Evolve, Space Marine, Darksiders, Saints Row 2, and many more. We have taken on projects that nobody would touch and successfully ported titles that required the kind of skill that takes decades of experience to obtain. In 2018, Mass Media was purchased by 2K and is thriving 2K studio working on some of the biggest titles in the industry.
