Philip Groth

Philip Groth serves as the Director of Operations Analytics at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), where Philip has been building and leading the Operations Analytics Team since its establishment in 2022. This team provides data and analytics tools to enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of MBTA services. Philip's previous roles at MBTA included Senior Technical Project Manager, managing the Operational Technology team, and Senior Transportation Planner, focusing on schedule improvements and service analysis. Prior to joining MBTA, Philip worked at ICF International as a Manager, consulting on greenhouse gas inventories and sustainability planning. Philip holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Williams College and a Master of Planning in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning from the University of Southern California.
