Scott Margolis

Scott Margolis is the Chief Information Security Officer at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) since October 2021, and the Founder and Managing Partner of SolutionLab, LLC, a company specializing in healthcare information security, since January 2000. Previously, Margolis served as the Director of Security & Privacy Compliance for the Massachusetts Health Exchange and worked as a Security & Privacy Compliance Manager for the New England States Collaborative Insurance Exchange Systems, contributing to the implementation of security programs in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. Margolis has extensive experience in security governance as the Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where oversight included a $3M budget and the development of comprehensive security policies. Margolis also held roles with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Neighborhood Health Plan, focusing on HIPAA compliance and CRM system enhancements. Academic credentials include an MBA in Information Systems from Fox School of Business at Temple University and a BA in Computer & Information Sciences from Temple University College of Engineering.
