Rachel Ackerman

Rachel Ackerman is the current Program Director at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. Rachel has also worked as a Market and Sector Development Fellow, Energy Programs Analyst, and Consultant. Rachel's experience with a variety of organizations has given their a well-rounded skillset that they use in their current position.

Rachel began their career as an Engineering Aide with the Department of Watershed Management. In this role, they were responsible for conducting research and analysis on specific challenges related to the lifecycle and commercialization of emerging energy technologies and existing commercial technologies. Rachel also provided analysis of clean energy industry best practices on a regional and national level.

In 2010, Rachel transitioned to the Washington Country Regional Planning Council where they took on the role of Energy Programs Analyst. In this position, they were responsible for participating in meetings, roundtables, and conferences related to Market Development and Support Division initiatives. Rachel also produced and presented summary reports on materials, policy development, and ecosystem mapping of clean energy in Massachusetts.

Most recently, Rachel worked as a Consultant with the Naval War College. In this role, they provided consulting services on a variety of topics related to engineering and construction projects.

Rachel's experience in both the public and private sector have given their a unique perspective on the clean energy industry. Her skillset and experience make their an asset to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.

Rachel Ackerman has a MBA in Sustainability & Social Change from Clark University and a BS in Environmental Economics & Management from the University of Rhode Island. Rachel graduated Summa cum laude from both schools.

Rachel Ackerman reports to Galen Nelson, Chief Program Officer. They are on a team with Edward Hsieh - Program Manager, Jess Hiltz - Program Administrator, and Lauren Farnsworth - Senior Program Manager.
