Simon Bellemare

Founder & CEO at Massachusetts Materials Technologies

Simon Bellemare is the founder and CEO of Massachusetts Materials Technologies. Prior to this, they were a lecturer at MIT from September 2011 to May 2020, teaching courses in manufacturing and structural materials. From July 2011 to December 2019, they were the president of Materials and Engineering Group LLC, where they led technical consulting projects in mechanics and materials. Simon then worked as a senior staff II at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. from July 2006 to July 2011, acting as a resource for civil and structural engineers. Simon has also interned at Schlumberger and Bombardier Aerospace. Additionally, they worked as a research assistant at the State University of New York at Stony Brook from January 2000 to May 2000. Lastly, they interned at the Industrial Materials Institute at the National Research Council Canada from May 1999 to August 1999.

Simon Bellemare has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as B.Eng. and M.App.Sci. degrees in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal.
