Joe Hartman

Provost And Vice Chancellor For Academic Affairs at Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2)

Joe Hartman currently serves as the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, a position held since July 2013, and is also the Dean of the Francis College of Engineering. Previously, Joe Hartman held leadership roles such as President of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers from April 2016 to March 2019 and Professor and Chair at the University of Florida from 2007 to 2013. In addition, Joe Hartman was Vice President of Publications for the Institute of Industrial Engineers between 2006 and 2008, and served as Associate Professor and Chair at Lehigh University from 1996 to 2007. Joe Hartman earned a PhD and an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
