Joel McCarthy

Joel McCarthy has extensive experience in student affairs and higher education administration, currently serving as Associate Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Massachusetts Lowell since January 2012, where previous roles have included Assistant Dean and Director of Residence Life. Prior to this, Joel held the position of Dean of Students and Associate Dean of Students at Wells College from June 2007 to January 2012 and has worked in various professional student affairs and residence life positions at Syracuse University from July 2000 to June 2007. Joel's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from Bradley University, a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University, and a Society of HR Management Certification from Le Moyne College. Currently, Joel is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership in Education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, with expected completion in May 2028.
