Nikhil Avinash Patil, PhD, currently serves as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, focusing on soft material additive manufacturing, polymer rheology, and composite materials for soft robotics while teaching various polymer-related courses. Prior experience includes a Project Assistant role at the Defense Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), where Nikhil contributed to the development of Ayurvedic nanofibres for COVID-19 protection, and positions as a Research Assistant at DIAT and Croda, concentrating on polymer-based biomaterials and finishing chemicals. Nikhil also held the position of Federal Treasurer at the Institute of Chemical Technology, managing finances and organizing student activities. Nikhil holds a Bachelor of Technology in Fiber and Textile Processing Technology and is pursuing a PhD in Polymer/Plastics Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
