Senior Animal Protection Outreach And Research Coordinator at MSPCA-Angell

Melissa Gallagher Ekvall serves as the Senior Animal Protection Outreach and Research Coordinator at MSPCA-Angell since May 2017, where responsibilities include engaging the public on animal protection issues through community events and social media, as well as conducting research to support legislative action. Additionally, Melissa has been the Campaign Coordinator for YES! on 3: Citizens for Farm Animal Protection since May 2016, focusing on improving the welfare of farm animals in Massachusetts. Previous experience includes internships with The Humane Society of the United States and Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia, where Melissa gained hands-on experience in wildlife rehabilitation and education. Melissa holds a Master’s Degree in Animal and Nutritional Sciences and a Bachelor’s Degree in the same field from West Virginia University.
