Eleni Varitimos

Eleni joined MassDevelopment in June 2014 and serves as the Director of Division Operations for the Community Development Division. Prior to this role, she served as the Agency's Vice President of Community Development for the Northeast Region of Massachusetts. In this Lawrence-based role, she managed projects requiring support from the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund, the Collaborative Workspace Program, and the Transformative Development Initiative (TDI) program. Eleni spent over a decade on Beacon Hill as a Chief of Staff in the Massachusetts Senate focusing her work on statewide transportation policy and fiscal affairs. She also worked at Fidelity Investments providing strategic marketing services to their portfolio companies and as a Business Analyst at PrimeStreet Corporation. Eleni's earlier work included helping launch the non-partisan public policy think tank MassINC and its independent policy magazine, CommonWealth. Eleni earned an MBA with magna cum laude honors from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College after graduating from Bryn Mawr College where she concentrated in political science and Latin American studies, as well as 16th and 17th Century European history. She was an inaugural participant in the Lawrence Leads program in 2019.
