Pema D. Latshang currently serves as the Greg Torres Senior Fellow at MassINC, a position initiated in April 2024, focusing on research and policy leadership in Massachusetts. Concurrently, Pema is part of the Speakers Bureau at the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, advocating for equitable educational opportunities across socio-cultural lines since September 2023. Previously, Pema was the Founding Executive Director of Teach Western Mass from December 2016 to May 2025, emphasizing teacher diversity and educational outcomes in Gateway Cities. Alongside this, Pema spent two decades in various educational roles, including Vice-President of Tashi Nyima Foundation Inc., Director of Professional Learning and Educator Leadership at Holyoke Public Schools, and numerous positions at the NYC Department of Education. Pema holds degrees from the University of Chicago, Baruch College, and Pace University, reflecting a strong foundation in public policy and educational leadership.
