Jason Marvel

Jason Marvel has an extensive background in education spanning over two decades, currently serving as the Principal of Wasilla High School in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District since August 2001. Under Jason's leadership, Wasilla High School achieved recognition as the only NC3 Leadership school in Alaska in 2022. Previously, Jason held several positions including Principal of Burchell High School, where the school transitioned to a Summit Learning school, and Assistant Principal at the same institution. Additionally, Jason has significant experience as an English teacher, serving in various capacities at Wasilla High School, Colony Middle School, and Rock Springs High School, while also contributing to staff development and coaching the boys' basketball team. Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Wyoming, a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from National University, and a Principal Certification in Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
