Alex Chalmers

Alex Chalmers is a seasoned entrepreneur in real estate development and investment management, currently serving as Founder and Managing Partner at Material Capital Partners since January 2018, specializing in purpose-built single-family build-for-rent communities in the Southeast. Additionally, Alex founded Material Ventures in March 2021, focusing on sustainable real estate and innovative technologies. Involved with the Young Presidents Organization and the National Wild Turkey Federation as a board member, Alex has a strong background in private equity and investment banking, having co-founded Avenida Capital and held key roles at Jefferies & Company and Silicon Valley Bank. Alex holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan, a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and a Professional Certificate in Real Estate Development & Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
